Blue Nail art

De laatste tijd begin ik steeds meer blauwe nagellak te dragen en daar horen natuurlijk ook blauwe nagel creaties bij. Vandaag wil ik jullie dan ook een nieuwe blauwe nail art laten zien. The past weeks, I've been wearing more and more blue polish on my nails, and today I'd like to show you a new blue nail art. These nails are a combination of three different polishes and the colors look just beautiful together. Continue reading for all the details of this manicure.

 

Voor deze nagels heb ik een nieuw donkerblauw lakje van Essence als basiskleur gebruikt. Hij heet; nr. 128 Let's get lost. Ik ben erg tevreden over de dekking van deze nagellak en ik denk dat ik er binnenkort een Swatch van online ga zetten. De lichtblauwe kleur is ook van Essence. Hij heet; 158 If I were a boy. In het voorjaar gaat Essence weer veel nieuwe lakken aan zijn assortiment toevoegen. In de komende weken zullen er dus veel nieuwe budget nagelproducten in de winkels te vinden zijn.

For this manicure, I've used a dark polish from Essence as a base color. It's called; No. 128 Let's get lost. I am very pleased with the coverage of this nail polish and I think I'm going to make a swatch of it very soon. I've also used a light blue polish from Essence called; No. 158 If I were a boy. This spring, Essence is going to add a lot of new nail polishes to it's collection.
So, there are going to be a lot new budget nail products in stores this spring.

De ronde vormen in deze nail art heb ik gemaakt door met verschillende lagen nagellak te werken. De achtergrond heb ik bij alle nagels in de donkerblauwe kleur gelakt. Hier heb ik vervolgens met een dunner kwastje een laag van de licht blauwe lak op aangebracht. Je moet wel opletten dat je niet helemaal tot de zijkanten van je nagels lakt. De derde laag bestaat uit witte nagellak. Je kunt de verschillende kleuren afwisselen voor een speciaal effect. Ik heb ook nog stippen op mijn nagels aangebracht met een dottingtool!

I added the different round formes to this nail art by covering my nails with several layers of polish. First I've used a dark blue polish as a background. The second polish that I've used for this design is the light blue one. You must be careful not to paint the different layers of polish all the way to the sides of your nails. The third layer consists of white polish. You can alternate the colors for a special effect! At last, I've used my dottingtool to finish this manicure with some dots :)

Nails4Winter challenge! #5 Winter tree

 
Vandaag wil ik een van mijn laatste nail arts van de Nails4Winter challenge aan jullie laten zien. Het is een gradient nail art met blauwe en witte kleuren en ik heb de zwarte takken met mijn stripers, en andere penselen, gemaakt. In dit artikel kunnen jullie meer lezen over deze nagels en mijn ervaringen met de Nails4Winter challenge.

Today I'd love to show you one of the lasts nail arts for my Nails4Winter challenge! 
I'ts a gradient nail art with blue and white colors, and I've made some black leaves to complet this manicure. In this article you can read more information about these nails and my experiences with my first blog challenge!

Deze nail art ziet er moeilijk uit maar hij is slechts in een paar simpele stappen op je nagels te maken. Eerst heb ik mijn nagels in een licht blauwe kleur gelakt, en daarna heb ik daar met een sponsje wat witte nagellak over aangebracht. Ik heb een topcoat gebruikt om de kleuren mooi te laten overlopen ;) Daarna heb ik met een zwarte nagellak, en mijn nagel penselen, de takken op mijn nagels gemaakt.

These nails look really difficult to make, but I've managed to create it in just a few easy steps. First I've painted my nails in a light blue polish, and after that, I've used a sponch to paint the tips of my nails white and create the gradient effect. I've used a topcoat to blend all the colors together ;) At last I’ve used a black polish and some stripers to create the black leaves on my nails.

 

Dit was mijn eerste challenge sinds deze blog de lucht in ging en ik moet zeggen dat het me heel goed is bevallen. Gedwongen worden om 2x per week een nail art te maken is echt goed voor je inspiratie. Ik heb de afgelopen weken dan ook veel geslaagde nail arts op mijn blog kunnen plaatsen. Maar het was ook moeilijk om bij elk thema een nieuwe manicure te verzinnen. De verschillende thema's gingen op een gegeven moment door elkaar lopen. Ik moet nu alleen nog de snowman nail art maken. Maar al met al is deze eerste challenge me goed bevallen!

This was my first challenge since I've started this blog and I have to say that I love to create all those winter nail arts for you guys. I was forced to make an article twice a week and it really helped me to get inspiration for a lot of beautiful manicures. But sometimes, it was difficult to come up with a new nail art for each theme. I'm almost finished with this challenge and overall, I'm really happy with the result!

Simple metallic Nail art

Hoi allemaal, in deze post wil ik jullie een simpele metallic nail art laten zien, die ik deze week op mijn nagels droeg. Het enige wat je nodig hebt is een dottingtool en natuurlijk 2 kleuren nagellak. Hoewel het licht niet meewerkte, ben ik uiteindelijk wel tevreden met de foto's en het resultaat van deze snelle nail art! Zoals de foto's al verraden, heb ik voor dit design mijn dottingtools weer tevoorschijn gehaald. Ik heb ze in verschillende maten gebruikt. Zo ontstaan er kleine en grote stippen en ringen op mijn nagels. Ik vind de afwisseling tussen metallic zilver en zwarte zelf erg geslaagd. De metallic nagellak die ik voor deze nail art heb gebruikt is van Catrice en heet; Nickel Minaj. Een van mijn eerste blog posts was een swatch van deze bijzondere nagellak. Ik zal een link onder dit artikel plaatsen als je meer wilt weten over de dekking en kwaliteit van dit lakje.

For this nail art design, I've used three different sizes of dottingtools to create the dots on my nails. I like the combination between the metallic background and the black rings and dots. The metallic nail polish that I used for this design is from Catrice and Is called; Nickel Minaj. One of my first blog posts was a swatch of this beautiful polish. I'll place a link in the comment section, if you want to read more about the quality and coverage of this polish.

 

 

De dag dat ik deze nail art maakte had ik eigenlijk helemaal geen tijd om mijn nagels te doen. Maar je weet hoe dat gaat, voor ik het wist lag de tafel weer vol met lakjes en waagde ik mezelf toch aan een nieuw design. Uiteindelijk ben ik erg tevreden met het resultaat. Je ziet wel dat sommige stippen niet helemaal mooi rond zijn maar toch wou ik jullie deze nagels laten zien. Ik hoop dat jullie van dit artikel zelf weer inspiratie krijgen voor een nieuwe metallic nail art!

The day that I made this nail art, I really had not more than 15 minutes to finish all my nails. But you know how it goes; before I knew it, there were a lot of different polishes laying on the table, and I started to think about a quick and simple manicure to share with you guys. You can see that some of the dots are far from perfect, but I hope that this article gives you some inspiration to make a nail art with metallic details yourself!

Tips & Tricks to grow your nails! ~nail care~

Hello everyone, today is all about nail care! J The past weeks, I’ve tried to get longer and stronger nails. In this article I’d love to share with you my tips & tricks to grow your nails. For my blog, I have to test a lot of different nail polishes, which can dry out your nails quickly. But now my nails are finally beginning to look healthier and I’d love to share my advices with you!

J Ik ben al een tijd bezig met het krijgen van sterkere en lange nagels, en vandaag heb ik een aantal tips & tricks voor jullie samengesteld, die mij hebben geholpen om mijn nagels sterker te maken. Voor mijn blog moet ik veel nagellak testen. Dit kan je nagels snel uitdrogen, maar nu beginnen mijn nagels er eindelijk gezonder uit te zien. Lees verder voor mijn tips & tricks!

Stop biting and picking your nails.

Yess, I know it's hard, but you have to stop touching them, to prevent them from breaking any further!

Slip into a pair of warm winter gloves, before going outside!

Those cold winter days can quickly dry out your nails, so make sure to wear some gloves when you go outside. Also make sure to apply a nail oil during those cold winter days ;) The past weeks, I've been using the nourishing nail oil  from herome that you can see in the picture nearby. this is a treatment that prevents your nails from breaking and drying out. It's also a great treatment to take care of your cuticles!


 

Avoid to much water.

I know it sound strange but your nails will become weaker when they're constantly in the water. Make sure to wear some gloves the next time you are cleaning the kitchen.

 

Always keep a nail file with you

It’s very important to keep a nail file with you, to prevent further damage when your nails are weak. If you want to grow your nails, it's better to start filling them once a week, instead of using scissors.
 

Nail strengtheners

Nail strengtheners are very useful to make your nails look strong and healthy. Especially if the quality of your nails is not as good as it should be. The best thing to do at that point, is wearing less polish. But that's hard if you have a nail polish addiction, like I have! :) You can still wear nail polish, but make sure to apply a nail strengthner under your base coat to protect your natural nails.  I recommend using the Opi Nail envy strengtheners. The polishes from Opi are more expensive then other regular polishes, but the quality is amazing, so they are worth the price :)

 
Base and Top coats

 

Always wear a base coat to protect your nails! It's smart to apply a top coat when you've finished your manicure, to prevent your nails from breaking of. You can also apply the topcoat at the very tips of your nails. Right now I'm using the Oxy power base and top coat from Herome! I'm very pleased with the quality of those two polishes and I love using them to finish my manicure!

 

 

Swipe away the old nail polish

 

Do not wear polish longer than 7 days. Make sure to remove old polish one week after applying it, and give your nails a break to prevent them from drying out! 

It's hard when you have to take pictures of your nails, every single day, but don't use to much polish. I also don't recommend a nail polish remover with acetone.

 

Don't peel off old polish

Picking away chipped nail polish will always led to nail damage. Don't apply to much polish on your nails, this causes chipping polish. Apply 2 very thin coats instead of 1 big layer of nail polish. Let your nails dry completely between each layer, this will help keeping the polish in place even longer. Make sure to wait at least 2 minutes while each layer of polish is drying.

Hoi allemaal, vandaag begin ik gelijk met een van mijn goede voornemens voor 2014, ik zou namelijk meer reviews op mijn blog plaatsen. :) Hoewel ik het super vindt om een product te testen, nemen uitgebreiden reviews altijd veel tijd in beslag. Maar vandaag komt er dan eindelijk weer eentje online. In dit artikel test ik de nepnagels van Primark voor jullie uit, en geef ik mijn eerlijke mening.

 
Hi everyone, today I'm going to start with one of my resolutions for 2014, which was writing more reviews for my blog. Although testing products is one of my favorite things to do, making articles like this, always takes a lot of time. But today I'd like to show you myfirst review of 2014. Inthis article I'm going to test the false nails from Primark, and I'll give myhonest opinion.

 

Iedere keer als ik de Primark binnenloop, kan ik het niet laten even bij de budget nagelproducten te gaan kijken. Meestal neem ik dan wel een setje nepnagels mee. Maar eenmaal thuis belanden ze in mijn 'nog te testen' la. Dat is jammer, want zoals je op de afbeeldingen in dit artikel kunt zien, maken de nepnagels een goede eerste indruk. Primark is het afgelopen jaar steeds meer nagel setjes gaan verkopen, en inmiddels zijn ze dan ook in alle soorten en maten verkrijgbaar.

That's a shame, because after all these false nails look great on your nails. Over the years, primark has been selling more and more kinds of nail products, and now they've all shapes and sizes in their collection!
 

 

Een verpakking bevat 24 maten nagels en een tubbetje lijm. De nepnagels passen over het algemeen goed op je natuurlijke nagels, maar omdat ik dunne vingers heb, moest ik een paar nepnagels bijvijlen. Over de lijm was ik niet te spreken. Ik heb dan ook eerst een beschermende topcoat over mijn nagels aangebracht, en hier heb ik de nepnagels met lijm opgelegd. Als ik geen topcoat gebruik, merk ik dat mijn nagels erg droog worden. De nepnagels die hierboven te zien zijn, vind ik erg geschikt voor de zomer. De wolken vallen op tegenover de felblauwe achtergrond en dit geeft een grappig effect! :)

Each little box of false nails contains 24 nails and a tube of nail glue. The false nailsgenerally fit well on your natural nails, and you can always file the false nails, if you like. But I wasn't happy about the glue at all! Therefore I first applied a topcoat to protect my nails. If I don't use a topcoat or any other nail product before applying the false nails, I noticed that my nails became very dry. The false nails that you can see in the picture above, are perfect for the summer. I've bought them a couple of months ago. The clouds are really popping out of the blue background!

 

Ook verkoopt de Primark diverse French manciure setjes. De snor is bij deze nagels een grappig detail. De French manicure is mijn favoriete nail art en ik heb 2 weken geleden dan ook een tutorial op mijn blog geplaatst. Als je zelf in een paar simpele stappen een French manicure wilt creëren klik dan hier. De nepnagels van primark kosten maar € 1.50, maar zijn de nagels de prijs eigenlijk wel waard? Hoelang blijven deze nepnagels op zijn plaats zitten? Hoewel ik de lijm in combinatie met een topcoat heb gebruikt viel de eerste nagel er na 2 dagen af. Toen ik alle nep nagels verwijdert had, moest ik mijn natuurlijke nagels goed reinigen want de lijm droogte ze snel uit, waardoor er scheurtjes ontstonden. Ik denk dat deze manicure wel erg geschikt is als je een feest hebt, en snel een simpele nail art wilt creëren!

The mustaches in these false nails are a really fun detail. I think these nails are more suitable to wear in the winter, and they look just so cute! The French manicure is my favorite nail art and 2 weeks ago I've posted a tutorial on my blog where I made a simple and quick French in just a few steps. I've used the nail glue in combination with a topcoat, but after 2 days my nails began to look ugly. :( When I removed the false nails, I noticed that my natural nails were realIy dry. But after all I think this manicure would be perfect for a one night party, so you can quickly create a beautiful manicure yourself!

~Swatches~ Maybelline Nr. 135 Nude Rose

 

Hoi allemaal, Ik hoop dat jullie fijne feestdagen achter de rug hebben! Tijdens deze kerst, en oud en nieuw, ben ik veel bezig geweest met nail arts voor mijn Nails4winter challenge, maar vandaag heb ik weer een swatch voor jullie. Deze nagellak van Maybelline komt uit de SuperStay 7days collectie en heet Nr. 135 Nude Rose. Aangezien ik nog niet eerder nagellak van Maybelline voor jullie heb getest, lijkt het me leuk om hem te swatchen! In dit artikel vertel ik wat ik van deze nude kleurige nagellak vind.

It's a nude pink polish from Maybelline New York called; Nr. 135 Nude Rose. This polishis from the SuperStay 7days collection. Maybelline zegt zelf dat, met de nieuwe SuperStay Collectie je, je nagels nog maar een dag per week hoeft te lakken. Deze lakjes zouden namelijk 7 dagen op je nagels blijven zitten en een unieke glansformule hebben. Maar maakt de nagellak al deze verwachtingen wel waar?

Maybelline says that you only need to paint your nails ones a week with their SuperStay polishes. They promise that the nail polish stays on your nails for 7 days! The polish would also have an unique shine formula. But does this nail polish accomplich all the expectations? 

 

De nude kleurige lakken zijn in 2013 echt een ontdekking voor mij geweest. Maybelline komt dus op het juiste moment met deze nagellak! Over de kleur kan ik kort zijn; Prachtig! Ook heeft de nagellak een goede dekking, hij bedekt je nagels met 2 laagjes van de lak. Je moet je nagels tussendoor wel goed laten drogen anders komen er alsnog scheurtjes in deze nagellak.

 

The nude-colored polishes were a real discovery for me in 2013. I think this color looks simple but absolutely beautiful on your nails. The nail polish has also a good coverage, it covers your nails with only two coats of the polish. One disadvantage is that you have to let your nail dry completely, before applying a second layer of polish. Otherwise there will stil be cracks in this nail polish.

 

Dit is wel jammer, maar over het brede kwastje ben ik wel weer erg te spreken. Het is nu nog makkelijker om snel je nagels te lakken. Naast de dekking vind ik de subtiele glans in de nagellak ook erg bijzonder. In fel licht valt deze lak nog lichter uit dan hij al is, en dit geeft een subtiel effect op je nagels.

This is unfortunate, but with the large brush, it's really ease to apply the polish on your nails.
I'm also very pleased with the shine formula in this polish. In bright light this nail polish looks even lighter than it already is, and this gives a special effect on your nails!

Annuleren

Bedoelde u: De goudkleurige hakken zijn in 2013 echt een ontdekking voor mij geweest. Naar mijn mening komt Maybelline dus ook precies op het juiste moment met deze nagellak. Over de kleur kan ik kort zijn; Simpel maar prachtig! Ook heeft de nagellak een goede dekking, hij bedekt je nagels met 2 lagen van de lak. Je moet je nagels dan tussen deze 2 lagen door wel goed laten opdrogen anders gaan ze alsnog chippen en ontstaan er bubbeltjes onder de lak. Dit is wel jammer, maar met het brede kwastje is de nagellak wel snel en handig aan te brengen. Naast de dekking ben ik ook erg te spreken over de subtiele glans in deze nagellak.
