~Review~ P2 Color Victim polish!


Hallo lieve lezers, vandaag wil ik weer een nieuwe review met jullie delen. De laatste tijd ben ik steeds meer bezig geweest met het maken van nail arts en het schrijven over trends en daarom zijn uitgebreide swatches er een beetje bij ingeschoten. Maar niet getreurd vandaag wil ik twee nagellakken van het merk P2 met jullie delen. Dit merk is helaas maar in weinig Nederlandse drogisterijen te koop maar via internet zijn ze wel redelijk goed te krijgen. Ik heb deze twee kleuren in een Duitse drogisterij genaamd Dm gekocht, toen ik in Berlijn op vakantie was. Het viel me op dat je in de Duitse winkels naast bekende merken als L´oreal en Catrice ook veel andere internationale merken kunt terugvinden. Bovendien wordt de nagellak je daar aangeboden voor een hele redelijke prijs en zo ben ik er in geslaagd een aantal goede koopjes op de kop te tikken. Hello dear followers, today I'd like to share a brand new review with you guys. The past weeks I've been making a lot of new manicures and I've also written a lot of articles about trends for your nails. That's why I didn't have a lot of time to share some swatches with you, but here I am and today I'd love to share a brand new review of two polishes from a brand called P2 with you. Unfortunately I wasn't able to buy these polishes in the Netherlands but I know that you can also buy them online. I've bought these two shades in a German drugstore called Dm because I went to Berlin for a citytrip a couple of days ago. I noticed that you can get a lot of nail polish brands in Germany, for example L'oreal and Catrice but they'll also sell a lot of international collections! On top of that I was able to get a lot of nail polishes for a very reasonable price. In this post I'd like to tell you more about the brand P2 Cosmetics and I'll give my honest opinion on the nail polishes that I've bought in Berlin last week. Zoals ik in de inleiding al schreef zijn er weinig plaatsen in Nederland waar P2 nagellak te krijgen is. Ik weet dat er een paar DA drogisterijen zijn die de lakjes in hun assortiment hebben maar verder zal je voor dit merk toch even moeten zoeken. Ik kwam er vandaag achter dat een paar van de lakjes ook te koop zijn via de webshop van Enchantra, hier kun je diverse internationale nagellak merken vinden voor een betaalbare prijs. De eerste lak van P2 die ik op mijn nagels uitprobeerde was deze glanzende lichtpaarse lak genaamd Nr. 502 Pretty little thing. Hoewel ik eerst niet veel van dit lakje verwachtte, vind ik deze kleur toch heel erg mooi! De lak droogt mooi egaal op en bovendien had ik maar twee laagjes nodig om al mijn nagels te bedekken. Dit lakje stelt me dus zeker niet teleur.

As you could already read in the introduction of this post, I'm not able to buy nail polish from P2 in the Netherlands. There are a few places where you can get them, for example the german drugstore Dm. Yesterday I saw that you can buy a couple of their glitter polishes via a webshop called Enchantra, here you can find a lot of international brands for a very resanable price. The first polish from P2 that I'd like to share with you today is this light purple shade called No. 502 Pretty little thing. Although I didn't expect a lot of these polishes, I ended up falling in love with this shade. This polish covered my nails with only two thin coats and I think you can make some beautiful manicures using this color. This nail polish definitely managed to meet my expectations!



Het Duitse merk P2 staat vooral bekend om zijn topcoats, en liquid sand nail polishes en daarom was ik ook erg benieuwd hoe een van de shimmer lakjes me zou bevallen. Deze lak genaamd Nr. 911 Satellite Dreams is een unieke licht paarse metallic kleur die ik nog niet veel bij andere merken heb kunnen spotten. Meestal valt de dekking van dit soort goedkopere lakken tegen, en hier is dit lakje geen uitzondering in. De lak bedekt mijn nagels met 2 lagen maar brengt erg streperig aan. Hij is dus niet geschikt voor nail arts en droogt bovendien vrij dik op. Maar ik vind de kleur wel erg bijzonder en ik denk dat je nagels met deze metallic paarse lak een echte eye-catcher kunnen zijn.

P2 is famous for it's glitter topcoats and liquid sand polishes, so I was also very curious if one of their shimmery polishes was going to meet my high expectations. This polish from P2 is called No. 911 Satellite Dreamsand is a light purple mettalic polish. I do think that the color from this shade is definitelly very unique! Fact is that a lot of times budget polish brands don't have a lot of high quality shimmer polishes in their collections and I think this polish is a good exemple of this. This nail polish covers my nails with two layers but looks very streaky on my nails. Therefore I think that this polish isn't very suitable to use when you are making nail arts. But I do like the color of this polish and I think that your nails can become real eye-catchers if you paint them in a mettalic color!

Mijn uiteindelijke mening? Als je in het buitenland bent is het het zeker waard om even naar deze lakjes op zoek te gaan. De dekking is over het algemeen prima en ook de kleuren vallen niet tegen. Vooral omdat de nagellakken van P2 zo goedkoop zijn mag ik eigenlijk niet klagen over de kwaliteit. Er zijn niet veel andere budget nagellak merken die zowel matte als glanzende lakjes voor zo'n zacht prijsje aanbieden. Hoewel ik in dit artikel geen sand lakjes heb uitgeprobeerd lees ik ook hiervan op internet veel positieve reviews. De lakjes van P2 kosten €1,95 en zijn verkrijgbaar bij de Duitse drogist Dm. Ook kun je een aantal van de glitter lakken via de webshopvan Enchantra kopen. De komende tijd zal ik meer buitenlandse merken op mijn blog gaan reviewen en ik ben heel benieuwd wat jullie van deze lakjes vinden!
 
So, my overall opinion? If you're in Germany I'd definitely recommend taking a look at the polishes from P2. The coverage of these shades isn't dissapointing at all and I was able to get them for a very reasonable price. I really don't have any chance to complain about these shades because of the low price of P2 polishes. There aren't a lot of budget brands that sell both matte and shimmer polishes and although I've never tried the liquid sand nail polish from P2, I came across a lot of positive reviews online. The polishes from P2 cost  around €1,95 and they are available in the German drugstore Dm. But you can also get some of their shimmer polishes via a webshop called Enchantra. The upcoming weeks I'll share a lot of foreign brands with you guys, and I'm so curious what you think of these shades!

Ik ben inmiddels teruggekomen van mijn Citytrip naar Berlijn en ik kondig alvast aan dat er de komende weken veel posts over deze stad online komen ;) In Berlijn kon ik superveel nagellak scoren die voor Nederlandse begrippen ook nog eens erg voordeling was. Zoals dit lakje van Maybelline genaamd Nr. 630 Dark Denim die, als je het mij vraagt perfect aansluit bij de Denim trend. Deze donkerblauwe nagellak bedekte mijn nagels met twee dunne lagen en droogt bovendien mooi egaal op. Het enige nadeel is dat de formule te vloeibaar is waardoor de lak snel in je nagelriemen terecht komt. Dat vind ik dus iets minder maar zoals jullie kunnen zien vormt deze nagellak wel de perfecte basis voor nail arts. Bovendien bevat hij een prachtige glans. Hieronder kunnen jullie de manicure zien die ik met deze lak gemaakt heb.

I just came back from my citytrip to Berlin, so I can anounce to you that I'll share a lot of berlin inspired posts on my blog the upcoming weeks. I managed to buy a lot of nail polish in this big city and the polishes were a lot cheaper than I expected them to be. One of the polishes that I've bought in Berlin is this one from Maybelline called No. 630 Dark Denim that fits the Denim theme really well! This dark blue polish covers my nails with two thin coats and dries also real quick. The only disadventage is that the formula of this polish is so thin that it gets in your cuticles. But after all I think this bottle of nail polish is perfect as a base for all your nail arts. In the pictures below you can see the the manicure that I created using this polish.


Hoewel ik op internet al veel versies van de Denim nail art tegenkwam wilde ik toch mijn eigen draai aan dit idee geven. Ik zat namelijk al veel langer met het idee van een Denim manicure in mijn hoofd maar had niet de perfecte kleur blauw in huis om hem te creëren. Zoals jullie hierboven al konden lezen ondekte ik in Berlijn een donker blauwe kleur die heel dicht in de buurt komt van spijkerstof blauw. Maar zoals jullie kunnen zien komt de kleur op bovenstaande foto's helaas toch niet helemaal tot zijn recht. Omdat ik wel tevreden was met de manicure heb ik toch besloten hem met jullie te delen. Ik gebruikte een striper en witte nagellak om de spijkerstof strepen op mijn nagels aan te brengen. Ook heb ik een licht blauwe holografische lak van Manhattan genaamd Nr. 101S gebruikt om de nail art net wat meer detail te geven. Zo creëerde ik een blauwe French manicure op mijn nagels in combinatie met witte streepjes die geïnspireerd zijn op de spijkerstof trend. Van de holograpische lak zal binnenkort ook een swatch online komen. :)

Although I came across a lot of Denim nail arts on the internet, I also wanted to create my own version of this popular manicure. I've been thinking to create a Denim inspired nail art for a couple of months now, but I did not have the perfect Denim blue nail polish to create this manicure. As you can see in the pictures I discovered this dark blue polish in Berlin that almost looks like a denim blue. But now that I take a better look I can see that even this polish is not really the perfect denim color. But afterall I did want to share this manicure with you because I'm very happy with the final result. After painting my nails with two layers of the denim blue I used my stripers to create the white Denim pattern on my nails. I've also used a light blue holographic polish from Manhattan called No. 101S  to give this manicure more details. In that way I could create a nail art which almost looks like a French manicure in combination with some white denim like stripes. In a couple of weeks I'll also share a review of the light holographic polish with you ;)

De jaren 90 trend is back in town! Denim blijft een must-have in iedere kledingkast. Het maakt niet uit wat je stijl is, of van wat voor soort spijkerstof items je het meeste houdt (bv. de boyfriend of de high waisted jeans) er zijn superveel manieren om Denim aan je outfit toe te voegen. Nu het einde van de zomer en het begin van de herfst dichterbij komen, zullen er weer veel spijkerbroeken in het straatbeeld te zien zijn. Maar ook op andere gelegenheden kan spijkerstof echt een statement maken! Of je nu een spijkerjasje of een overall draagt, Denim is perfect voor iedere gelegenheid. In dit artikel wil ik graag mijn 4 favoriete Denim items met jullie delen. Ik zal ook uitleggen hoe je spijkerstof op verschillende manieren en op verschillende gelegenheden in je outfit kunt verwerken. 1. High waisted pants & shorts
 
Of je een spijkerbroek nu combineert met een paar laarzen of een simpel t-shirt, feit is dat je echt niet de mist in kunt gaan met deze stijl! Je kunt bijv. een everyday look creëren door een high waisted jeans te combineren met een simpele blouse en een statement necklace maar met een lang oversized vest kun je juist weer de perfecte festival look samenstellen. Als je deze high waisted jeans of shorts nog meer wilt accentueren kun je een flaterende blouse in een neutrale kleur dragen of een riem aan je outfit toevoegen om je taille nog slanker te laten lijken. Een andere optie is het combineren van je skinny jeans met een kleurrijk kort jurkje. Je kunt hier een paar felle hoge hakken onder dragen om je outfit nog geschikter te maken voor een avondje uit.
Whether you style your Denim jeans with a pair of boots or with a simple t-shirt, fact is you really can't go wrong with this style! You can create an everyday look by combining your high waisted jeans with for example a simple blouse and a statement necklace or with a long fringe vest to create the perfect festival look. If you want to accentuate your high waisted jeans or shorts even more, you can go for a more flattering blouse and you can add- for example a belt to highlight your waist. Another option is to combine your skinny jeans with a colourful and short dress. You can wear some high heels to make your outfit even more appropriate for a long night out.



2. The Demin jacket

Een andere manier om Denim te stijlen is door middel van het wel bekende spijkerjasje. Dit item zal het komende seizoen echt een musthave worden. Je kunt een spijkerjasje dan ook op heel veel verschillende manieren dragen. Draag bijvoorbeeld een oversized spijkerjack over een neutrale trui om een relaxte outfit samen te stellen. Maar je kunt ook Denim met... nog meer Denim combineren! Ik ben echt verliefd geworden op deze look! Door verschillende kleuren en texturen met elkaar te combineren kun je je outfit nog interessanter maken. Bij deze look heb je geen ketting meer nodig omdat twee verschillende soorten Denim bij elkaar al een statement maken. Een optie voor een nette gelegenheid is bijvoorbeeld een oud spijkerjasje in combinatie met een little black dress! Hier kun je nog een paar hoge hakken aan toevoegen.

Another way to style denim is with a Demin jacket. This item is really going to be a musthave this upcoming fall. You can wear a demin jacket in a variety of different ways. Wear, for example, your oversized jacket on top of a neutral sweater to create a relaxed everyday outfit. But you can also wear Denim over Denim! I'm currently in love with this look. By combining different colours and different kind of textures you can create a really interesting outfit. With this look you don't need to wear any unnecessary necklaces or bracelets because Denim on Denim is already a statement on itself. An option for a more special occation would be an old demin jacket in combination with a little black dress! You can add a pair of high heels if you like!





3. The long Denim skirt

Ook lange spijkerrokken zullen steeds meer te zien zijn deze herfst. Ze hebben hun comeback gemaakt op de catwalk en waren dit jaar dan ook in verschillende najaarscollecties van bekende designers te bewonderen. Ik kon veel verschillende stijlen en stoffen op de catwalk ontdekken en je kunt de spijkerrok op veel verschillende manieren dragen. Kies bijvoorbeeld, een afgesleten lange spijkerrok in combinatie met een witte blouse om een elegante maar toch stoere look te maken. Je kunt natuurlijk altijd accessoires toevoegen zoals een ronde zonnebril of een klein tasje. Op die manier valt je outfit nog meer op. De andere optie is een lange spijkerrok met een patroontje erop, zo kun je namelijk een meer vrouwelijke look samenstellen.
Denim skirts are becoming a huge trend this fall. You may have already noticed the arrival of long Denim skirts. They've made their comeback  in a lot of fall collections from famous designers this year. You could see them in a variety of styles and fabrics. You can wear this '90s trend in a lot of different ways. For example, a distressed Denim skirt in combination with a patterned or a white blouse to create a more grunge look. You can also add some accesoires to your long Denim skirt, like round glasses or an envelope clutch to make your outfit stand out even more. The last option is to go for a long skirt with some patterns to create a more feminine look.



4. The Dungaree

Er zijn veel verschillende mogenlijkheden om Denim te stijlen maar de laatste optie die ik met jullie wil delen is de overall, oftewel de Dungaree. Deze jaren 90 trend is terug op de catwalk en ik denk dat we de Denim trend daarom definitief moeten omhelzen. Als Dungarees niet helemaal je ding zijn geeft dat niet, je kunt ook een jurk van spijkerstof proberen. Ik heb dit jaar weer veel spijkerstof items bij bekende mode ontwerpers zien terugkomen. Dungarees bijvoorbeeld, kunnen de perfecte casual look vormen. Hoewel spijkerstof altijd meer casual dan chique zal zijn kun je wel zelf een speciale touch aan je look toevoegen. Door bijvoorbeeld een kanten crop top aan je Dungaree toe te voegen kun je je outfit nog specialer maken voor een nette gelegenheid. Als je sneakers onder je Dungaree draagt, zal je look altijd wel casual ogen maar met een paar hoge hakken of een statement necklace kun je je outfit juist die extra speciale touch geven.

 
There are endless ways to style denim but the last option that I'd like to share with you is the Dungaree. This '90s fashion item is back on the runway and I think it's time to embrace the denim trend. If dungarees aren't your thing, you can try a long denim dress instead. I've spotted a lot of denim items during the London fashion week. Dungarees can make the perfect everyday look. Denim will always be on the casual side but as you can see in the pictures above you can add a lace crop top or another more sophisticated item to create a look for a more special occasion. If you wear sneakers under your Dungaree your outfit will definitely look more casual, but you can also add some black high heels or a statement necklace to make your outfit stand out even more.

Texel nail art!



Hallo allemaal, daar ben ik weer! Vorige week konden jullie al lezen over mijn vakantie op Texel, waar ik twee volle weken heb doorgebracht. Ik deelde een artikel met foto's die ik op het eiland gemaakt heb met jullie. Omdat ik zoveel positieve reacties had gekregen is het misschien een idee om dit vaker te doen. Maar we dwalen af, ik heb het dus erg naar mijn zin gehad op het eiland en na de vakantie begon de inspiratie voor een nieuwe manicure dan ook volop te bloeien. In deze post kunnen jullie het eindresultaat zien. Hoewel deze manicure uiteindelijk voornamelijk bestond uit priegelwerk, ben ik toch wel tevreden met het resultaat. Hello everyone, I'm back again! Last week you could already read something about my vacation on the frisian Island Texel, where I stayed for two whole weeks. I wrote an article for you guys where you could see the pictures that I made on the Island. There were a lot of positive reactions on that article, so I decided that I want to share that kind of photo dairy posts with you more often. But today I want to share a new manicure with you which is inspirated on things you can find on Texel. Zoals jullie kunnen zien is deze nail art geïnspireerd op mijn belevenissen in Texel. Ik wilde deze manicure herkenbaar maken en dus heb ik volop met de clichés gespeeld. Want het ontbreekt je natuurlijk niet aan zon, zee & strand als je naar een eiland gaat. Ook de vuurtoren liet ik in vereenvoudigde vorm terug komen. Ik heb deze trouwens ook bezocht en het uitzicht vanaf de top was super mooi. We konden het hele eiland rondkijken! Door een strandpaal op mijn nagels te maken voegde ik nog wat extra details toe. Maar ook de silhouetten van de vogels helpen hieraan mee. De kleuren die ik voor deze nail art gebruikt heb moest ik in sommige gevallen mengen omdat ik de perfecte kleur van lucht, of van zand helaas nog niet gevonden heb. Maar hoe heb ik deze nail art precies gemaakt?

As you guys can see, this manicure is inspired on all the activities and other things which you can find on the frisian Island Texel. I wanted you guys to be able to regonize some of the things I painted on my nails, so I played along with all the cliches that the Island is famous for. You can see that I created a little light hause, which I visited when I was on vacation on this frisian Island. The view on top of the light hause was just perfect and I can definitely recommend visiting texel. I finished the little details of this manicure creating a beach post and some birds on my nails. Unfortunately, I didn't have some of the colors which I wanted to use to create this mani, but I was able to mix different polishes together. But how have I created this nail art creation exacly?


Zoals jullie zien vormt een laag lichtblauw lak de basis voor deze manicure. Toen mijn nagels gedroogd waren heb ik door middel van verschillende lagen het effect van strand en de duinen op mijn nagels proberen te creëren. De groene kleur verwijst naar de duinen maar ook het bos van Texel waar veel verschillende bloemen en planten voorkomen. Op de voorgrond plaatste ik de vuurtoren en de strandpaal, die door zand (gele nagellak) omgeven worden. Normaal maak ik niet vaak van dit soort nail arts, ik beperk me meestal tot de patroontjes en meer herkenbare thema's. Ik vond het dan ook moeilijk om alle details even netjes op mijn nagels te krijgen. Maar toch ben ik tevreden met het uiteindelijke resultaat!

The light blue color forms the base of this manicure. When my nails had dried completly I started painting different layers of polish on my nails to create the beach and the dunes. The green color refers to the dunes and the forest and all the different kinds of plants that you can find on the Island. I placed a little light hause and a beach post on the front and they are surrounded by sand. (yellow nail polish) I do not prefer making nail arts using to many little details, but I think I have to consider making them more often. I'm used to making more regonizable patterns and other themes on my nails using the freehand technique but I struggled getting all of these details on my nails. But I do like the overall result of this manicure!

Photo Dairy: Vacation on the frisian Island Texel!

 
Hoi lieve lezers, zoals sommige van jullie misschien wel konden merken ben ik er 2 weken tussenuit geweest. Nou ja, ik ging er niet helemaal tussenuit, maar met een post per week in plaats van 2 uitgebreide artikelen kan je wel zeggen dat ik iets minder tijd aan mijn blog heb besteed. Hoewel ik desperate probeerde om posts in te plannen blijft het toch moeilijk om nail arts voor te werken. Creativiteit laat zich nu eenmaal niet inplannen ;) But afterall, I'm back! De afgelopen twee weken heb ik doorgebracht op het prachtige eiland Texel. Ja, ik ben dus gewoon in Nederland gebleven maar omdat ik al vanaf mijn peutertijd vakanties op Texel doorbreng voelde het voor mij echt als thuiskomen. Hello dear readers, as some of you guys could already notice, I've had a break for two weeks! Well, not really a hugh break but the last weeks I've been writing one post a week instead of writing two bigger articles. So I invested a little less time in Creativenails4fun and although I tried to continue planning in articles, I discovered that it's really hard to plan your creativity :) But afterall, I'm back! The past two weeks I've been on vacation to one of the frisian islands in the Netherlands called Texel. Hoewel ik inmiddels al zo'n 15 keer naar Texel op vakantie ben geweest vallen er op het eiland altijd weer nieuwe dingen te beleven. Zo hebben we bijvoorbeeld de vuurtoren van het eiland, gelegen in de Cocksdorp bezocht. Het uitzicht bovenop de toren was prachtig en je kon zo het hele eiland rondkijken. Maar natuurlijk zijn we daarna ook even op het strand gaan liggen. Het weer liet niets te wensen over, en hierdoor was ik, met mijn rode lokken zelfs in staat een mooi bruin kleurtje te bemachtigen!

Although I've been on vacations to Texel for almost 16 times, I feel like there is always something new to explore on this frisian island. We went for example to the lighthouse of Texel, which is situated in a village in the nord of the Island called the Cocksdorp. The view on top of the tower was just stunning, we could see the whole Island from there. But we also went to the first floor again to visit the large beaches. The weather was just perfect during these two weeks and although I've got a really light skin and red locks, I managed to get a nice tanned body!




Natuurlijk hebben we niet alleen op het strand gelegen. Hoewel het strand zich wel goed leende voor een lange wandeling langs de verschillende strandpalen, hebben we ook veel door de duinen en het bos gewandeld. Maar op de dagen dat het weer tegenviel hebben we ook niet stil gezeten. Een bezoek aan het juttersmuseum in Oudenschild, verse mosselen eten bij strandpaal 15 & een bezoek aan de bioscoop, op Texel is werkelijk van alles te doen!

Ofcorse we've also done a lot of other activities instead of laying on the beach. Although the beach was the perfect place for a long walk across all the beach posts, we've also been walking a lot through the forest and the dunes. But on the days that the weather wasn't perfect we managed to get out and visit for example the museum about, navy & beachcombers in a little port village called Oudenschild. But we also visited the local cinema of texel and we have eaten the most delicious mussels on the beach!



Heerlijke verse aardbeien maakten mijn vakantie compleet. We konden ze zelf verzamelen in de zelfpluktuin gelegen bij de hoofdstad van het eiland: Den Burg.

Lovely fresh strawberries made this vacation perfect. We could collect them ourselfs in a garden nearby the capital city of the Island called: Den Burg.




S'avonds laat was het nog lang licht en hierdoor waren er dan ook veel mensen op het strand te vinden. We genoten van een mooie zonsondergang en deze foto was in een fractie van een seconde gemaakt op het strand bij paal 21.

At night there was a really clear and light air for a long time so a lot of people decided to stay on the beach a little bit longer. We enjoyed the nice sunset and I took the picture above in a fraction of a seconde on the beach nearby beach post 21.
 



En dan de lak die ik deze vakantie op mijn nagels droeg. Nr. 323 Don't be shy uit de Rita Ora collectie heb ik een aantal weken geleden al voor jullie geswatched maar omdat ik zo enthousiast was over de hele collectie besloot ik deze kleur nog wat uitgebreider uit te testen. En ik moet zeggen: zelfs bij twee weken zon, zee & strand overtrof deze kleur mijn verwachtingen. De lak bedekt mijn nagels met een dikke laag van de nagellak en ik vind de kleur alleen al erg bijzonder. De lak bleef makkelijk twee weken lang op mijn nagels zitten. De kwaliteit van dit lakje valt dus zeker niet tegen!

Hoewel deze post te klein is om alle activiteiten en foto's met jullie te delen heb ik je in dit artikel toch een kleine indruk proberen te geven van de sfeer op het eiland. Ik kan een bezoek aan Texel dan ook zeker aanraden! Ik kan nu alvast verklappen: volgende week zal er een nail art geïnspireerd op mijn vakantie in Texel online komen. :)
 

And now it's time to tell you something more about the polish that I wore on my nails during this vacation. I've already swatched No. 323 Don't be shy from the Rita Ora collection for you a couple of weeks ago but I was so happy with the quality of this whole collection that I decided to test this pink shade even better. And I have to say: even after two weeks this polish managed to meet my expectations! This polish covers your nails with one layer of the polish and I think the color is very special as well. So this polish stayed on my nails the whole vacation and the quality of this shade managed to meet my expectations after two weeks of sun, sea & beach.

Although this post isn't big enough to share all my experiences of my vacation with you, I did want to give you guys a little impression of this frisian island. I can definitely recommend visiting Texel and I'd also like to enounce to you that I'll be posting a inspired texel manicure next week!

COTM: Back to school ~Vote for your favorite mani!


Hallo allemaal! Vandaag deel ik het tweede thema van de maandelijkse COTM met jullie. Een tijdje terug kwam Cindy van Brilliantnails met het briljante idee om een maandelijkse nail art challenge op te zetten met 12 andere bloggers. Iedereen vond dit een goed idee en dus wil ik vandaag alweer de tweede versie van deze challenge met jullie delen. Ons eerste thema was Beach & Vacation maar deze maand is het thema Back to school. Het duurt nog even voordat de scholen weer beginnen maar in dit artikel wil ik jullie zowel mijn inzending als de andere manicures laten zien en onder deze post kunnen jullie stemmen op jullie favoriet. Today I'd love to share the second theme of the monthly COTM with you guys. Some months ago one of my lovely nail colleagues called Cindy from Brilliantnails came with the idea to start a montly nail art challenge with 12 other dutch beauty bloggers. Everyone thought that this would be a great idea and today it's time to share the second version of this challenge with you. Our first theme is Beach & Vacation but this month's design is all about back to school. In this article I'd love to share my version of this theme with you and I'd also like to share the manicures from the other contestants with you. If you scroll to the end of this post you can easily vote for your favorite manicure!  Continue reading for all the details...



Zoals jullie in de inleiding al konden lezen is het thema van de nail art challenge van de maand augustus: Back to school. Ik moest dus een manicure verzinnen die goed bij dit onderwerp aansluit. Het idee van potloden, cijfers of een liniaal op je nagels komt dan natuurlijk snel in je hoofd op. Ik besloot te beginnen met een french manicure, die als je beter kijkt geïnspireerd is op de achterkant van een potlood. Hierbij kwamen mijn stripers goed van pas en het zilveren randje maakt deze nail art echt af. Voor mijn andere nagels wilde ik ook een manicure creëren die ook iets met het school thema te maken heeft maar niet te obvious is. Daarom besloot ik een blauw Argyle patroon op mijn nagels te maken. Dit ruiten patroon zie je vaak op Amerikaanse schooluniformen en doet me daarom echt aan de high school denken.

As you could already read in the introduction of this article, this month’s challenge has a back to school theme. So I had to come up with a manicure that fits this subject really well. I thought of some manicures, for example: numbers, rulers or pencils on your nails but I finished making the design that you can see in the pictures above. First I made a French manicure which is inspired on the back of a pencil. I used my stripers to create horizontal and vertical lines and I think the silver line really adds the detailing in this manicure. So I also wanted to share another design which fits the back to school theme really well without being too obvious. I decided to come up with a blue Argyle pattern. You can see this pattern a lot in British and American high schools and I love the overall result of this manicure.














Behalve mijn nagel creatie zijn ook mijn mede blogcollega's weer druk bezig geweest met het ontwerpen van een back to school nail art. Hun inzendingen kunnen jullie in de afbeeldingen hierboven zien. Ik vind alle nagel creaties weer super creatief en erg geslaagd! Vooral de creatie van iOnTrend vind ik leuk geworden. Maar wat vind jij? In de poll hieronder kun je stemmen op je favoriete manicure. Ik ben heel benieuwd wat jullie van alle inzendingen vinden en of jullie mijn manicure ook geslaagd is!

Except for my version of the back to school nail art, my dear blog colleagues have also created some beautiful school related nail designs that you can see in the pictures above.
