Purple Flowers nail art

Als ik aan de lente en de zomer denk, denk ik gelijk aan strand, bloemen en aan mijn favoriete zomerse outfit! Dat waren dan ook de dingen die in me opkwamen toen ik deze week een nieuwe nail art ging maken. Uiteindelijk heb ik een nagel creatie gemaakt die bestaat uit 2 verschillende tinten paars en bloemen aan de bovenkant van mijn nagels. When I think of the spring and summer: beach, flowers and my favorite summer outfit immediatelly appear in my head! So when I decided that I wanted to create a new manicure this week, I knew that I was going to use some flowers in this design. Voor deze nail art heb ik behalve witte –en zwarte nagellak ook 2 verschillende paarse lakjes gebruikt. De licht paarse kleur is van Essence en heet Nr. 149 Hello Marshmallow. Hoewel je wel 2 dikke lagen van de lak nodig hebt om je nagels goed te kunnen bedekken vind ik de kleur van dit lakje wel erg bijzonder! De donkerpaarse kleur die ik gebruikt heb is van L’oreal Paris en heet Nr. 508 Amazon Flower. Van deze lak konden jullie een paar weken geleden al een review op mijn blog lezen. Ook de kleur van deze nagellak vind ik erg mooi en hij is bovendien geschikt als basis voor je nail arts!
 

For this manicure I used, exept black and white nail polishes, also two different shades of purple. The light purple polish that I’ve used to create this design is from Essence (No. 149 Hello Marshmallow) You’ll need two layers of this polish to cover all your nails but I think the color of this nail polish looks really pretty! The second purple shade that I used for this manicure is from L’oreal Paris. No. 508 Amazon Flower is a dark purple shade and you could already read a review of this nail polish a couple of weeks ago. I think the colour of this polish looks really nice and It’s very appropriate to use as a base for all your nail arts!

 

Maar nu over de nail art zelf. Nadat ik de paarse kleuren op mijn nagels had aangebracht heb ik de contouren van de bloemen gemaakt met behulp van mijn witte en zwarte stripers. Toen mijn nagels gedroogd waren heb ik hier afwisselend verschillende lagen paarse, witte en zwarte lak overheen gebracht. Hierdoor ontstaat er een bijzonder effect en begonnen de zwarte en witte contouren op bloemen te lijken! Toen ik klaar was bracht ik de Quick dry & High shine topcoat van Catrice aan om mijn nagels nog wat extra glans te geven.

I’d also like to tell you how I created this new manicure. After painting my nails in the two shades of purple, I started creating the outlines of this design with some black and white stripers. J When my nails had dryed completly I used some different layers of purple, black and white polishes and slowely the black and white outlines began to look like flowers! I finished this manicure using one of my favorite top coats called the Quick Dry & High shine topcoat from Catrice.

Welke kleuren zijn er nou simpeler te combineren dan zwart & wit? In de lente van 2013 lieten bekende merken zoals Marc Jacobs en Dolce en Gabanna hun modellen al in kleding met opzichtige zwart/witte prints over de catwalk lopen. Ook in de lente en zomer van 2014 zullen we deze trend nog veel gaan terugzien. Of je outfit nou uit simpele zwart met witte strepen/stippen bestaat of dat je kiest voor een meer gewaagdere print, zwart & wit is een must in iedere kledingkast en ziet er altijd klassiek en tijdloos uit.

Hoewel deze trend dus vooral voor de zwarte en witte printjes geldt kun je, je outfit afmaken door een aantal fellere details aan je kleding toe te voegen. Zoals je op de foto’s in dit artikel kunt zien, kun je je outfit compleet maken door een aantal felrode details in je look op te nemen. Kies bijvoorbeeld een rode tas of draag een paar felle high Heels om je outfit compleet te maken. Ook kun je basic zwart & witte kleding goed combineren met de ietwat gewaagdere statement Necklace!

Although this trend is mostly intended for black & white shades, you can finish this outfit by adding some brighter details to your everyday wardrobe. As you can see in the photos of this article, you can use some bright red details to complet your outfit! Choose for example a red bag or some coloured high heels to add to your style. You can also combine black & white clothes with a brigh statement necklace to give your outfit a more delicate look.

Een bijpassende zwart/witte nail art mocht voor dit artikel natuurlijk niet ontbreken ;) Bij deze manicure heb ik 2 verschillende designs gecombineerd door de achtergrond afwisselend zwart of fel rood te lakken. Daarna heb ik met mijn zwarte en witte stripers de details op mijn nagels toegevoegd. Ook heb ik met mijn dottingtool stippen op mijn nagels aangebracht om deze manicure compleet te maken. Zal deze trend ooit verdwijnen? Ik betwijfel het. Zwart & wit is nog steeds een klassieke combinatie die in geen enkele kledingkast mag ontbreken!

To complet this article, I wanted to share a matching black, white & red manicure with you guys. For this simple nail art, I have combinated two different designs. First I’ve painted my nails with some basic black and red polishes. Then I added some black and white lines with my stripers. I have also used a dottingtool to add some white dots to this nail art creation. Will this trend ever go out of style? I don't think so :) Black and white  prints make together the perfect combination that should not be missed in any wardrobe!

~Review~ Mavala Delicious Polishes for Spring

De laatste tijd introduceren steeds meer merken hun collecties voor deze lente! Ook Mavala heeft een aantal vrolijke lentelakken in zijn assortiment zitten, waaronder de Mavala Delicious Colors. Deze collectie bestaat uit 6 lichte kleurtjes en ligt al een tijd in de winkels. Vorige week kocht ik 2 lakjes van dit voor mij onbekende merk en ik was erg benieuwd hoe ze me zouden bevallen! In dit artikel geef ik mijn eerlijke mening over 2 van de nagellakken uit de lente collectie…

Lately, a lot of different brands are beginning to present their spring collections! Also Mavala has some beautiful spring polishes in it's collection, including their Delicious Colors. This collection consists of 6 light nail polishes and you can already buy them in stores! Last week, I bought two polishes from this for me unknown brand and I'm very exiting to try them for you. I'm so curious if these polishes are going to meet my expectations. In this article I'll give my honest opinion on the two polishes from the Delicious Colors collection from Mavala...

Dit jaar bestaan de kleine nagellakjes van Mavala 50 jaar en ik schaamde me dus een beetje dat ik nog nooit iets van dit merk geprobeerd heb. Het merk komt oorspronkelijk uit Zwitserland maar is inmiddels overal ter wereld te koop. Om het succes te vieren brengt Mavala dit jaar een collectie met de originele lakjes uit 1962 uit. Het merk staat bekend om zijn kwalitatief hoogstaande producten, ze verkopen zowel verzorgingsproducten als kleine 5ml nagellakjes. In Nederland is dit merk te krijgen bij o.a. Douglas en de Ici paris XL. Hoogste tijd dus, om twee mini nagellakjes van Mavala uit te proberen!

This year the small polishes from Mavala exist 50 years, so I was a little emberrased that I've never tryed any nail products from this brand before. Mavala is originally from Zwitzerland, but you can buy their products in more than 100 country's! To celebrate the succes of this brand, Mavala is going to release a special collection with some of their old nail polishes from 1962. The brand is know for It's high quality products and they sell both nail care products and 5ml polishes. In the Netherlands you can find this brand in stores like Douglas and Ici Paris Xl. So I decided that it is the right time to start trying two of their little polishes for you guys!
  

 

Het eerste lakje dat ik op mijn nagels probeerde was Nr. 182 Fresh Melon. Op de site geeft dit merk al aan dat je de nagellak het beste in twee dunne laagjes aan kunt brengen. Dit bleek ook te kloppen! Een laagje van deze lak is niet genoeg om al je nagels mooi te bedekken maar met een 2^e laagje zien mijn nagels er wel mooi uit. De lak droogt snel op en heeft een gladde finish. In fel licht hebben de nagellakken uit de Delicious Color collectie een lichte gouden shimmer, wat deze lakjes nog specialer maakt!

The first polish that I tryed on my nails is called No. 182 Fresh Melon. On the site of Mavala I could already read that you need two coats to cover your nails with their polishes. And this was proved to be true. One layer of the polish is not enough to cover all your nails, but with a second layer you can cover your nails completely! The polish dryes really quickly and has a very smooth finish. In bright light this polish has a subtl golden shimmer that makes te colour even more beautiful.

Het 2^e lakje waar ik erg benieuwd naar was heet Nr. 183 Pistachio. Deze lak ziet er in de verpakking super mooi uit en ik vind de kleur ook erg uniek. Waar andere merken hun lente collectie vullen met roze en blauwe pasteltinten brengt Mavala veel vernieuwing. Een pastelgroen lakje zou je dan ook niet meteen verwachten. Voor deze nagellak had ik echter wel drie laagjes van de lak nodig. De inhoud van deze lak lijkt iets wateriger te zijn, maar opgedroogd ziet ook deze nagellak er prachtig uit!
 

I was also really curious if the second polish called No. 183 Pistachio was going to meet my high expectations. The polish looks stunning in the package and I think the colour is really unique. Other brands fill their spring collections with pink and blue pastel colours, but the colours from this brand are just a little bit more special! However the quality of this polish doesn't meet my expectations. I needed tree layers to cover my nails and the polish looked a little bit off. But when this polish was dryed completly, I was happy with the final result of this manicure.

Dit is een van mijn favorieten! Ik ben inmiddels al 3 jaar serieus bezig met nail art maar daarvoor vond ik nagellak ook al geweldig! Met een nieuw design kun je al je creativiteit uitten en laten zien hoe je je echt voelt! Wat niet uit te drukken is in woorden zeg ik met mijn nail arts.

Deze quote vind ik ook echt geweldig. Ik kan me heel goed in deze uitspraak herkennen. Hoewel schrijven mijn grote hobby is was het voor mij toch een grote stap om deze blog te beginnen. Toen ik creativenails4fun eenmaal begonnen was blogde ik eigenlijk meer voor mezelf want ik verwachte niet dat er veel mensen naar mijn nagelcreaties zouden kijken, laat staan mijn blog zouden volgen! Worden jullie ook zo vrolijk van de lente? De afbeeldingen in dit artikel brachten me deze week helemaal in de pasen stemming! De nail art die ik jullie vandaag wil laten zien is een combinatie van twee verschillende nagelcreaties. Ik zag op Pinterest al veel afbeeldingen van lente -en pasen nail arts voorbij komen en daar kreeg ik dan ook veel nieuwe inspiratie van :) Op twee van mijn vingers besloot ik kleine kuikentjes te lakken. Het leuke van deze nail art is dat je hem simpel zelf kunt namaken. Ik begon deze nagel creatie met een lichtbruine basis en daar heb ik met een gele nagellak de contouren van de kuikentjes op aangebracht. Het gele lakje dat ik voor deze nail art gebruikt heb is van Hema. (Nr. 810) Als laatst heb ik de zwarte en oranje details toegevoegd, die de kuikentjes een super schattig uiterlijk geven.

Are you guys also exited for spring to come? The photos that you can see in this article made me feel really happy this week! For the manicure that I'd like to show you today, I made a combination of two different designs. I saw a lot of different spring and easter nail arts on Pinterest and decided that I wanted to make a new spring manicure as well :) First I created some little chickens on two of my finger nails. The fun part about this manicure is that you can easily create this design yourself at home! I started this nail art with a light braun base and then I painted the contours of the little chickens with a yellow polish. The nail polish that I used for this manicure is from Hema. (No. 810) I finished this nail art using some black and orange polishes to create the little details on my nails!

 

Van mijn overige nagels heb ik paaseitjes gemaakt! Door aan de basis van witte acryl nagellak allerlei felle patroontjes toe te voegen kun je snel een leuk effect creeren. Ik heb voor deze manicure een combinatie van stippen, chevrons en rechte lijnen gebruikt! Toen mijn nagels gedroogd waren heb ik wat glans toegevoegd met een topcoat. Deze manicure is zeer geschikt voor pasen en zal dit weekend dan ook een echte eye-catcher zijn!

On my other nails I've made some cute little easter eggs! I added multiple bright details to the white base of acrylic paint to create a special effect on my nails. I've used a combination of dots, bright chevrons and some straight lines to create the patterns on my nails. When my nails had dryed completly, I used a top coat to give this manicure some extra shine. I love the final result of this nail art and I think this manicure will be a real eye-catcher during easter!

Review holographic nail foil + manicure

Hoi allemaal! Vandaag review ik voor jullie de holografische nagel folie die ik een aantal weken geleden in Delft gekocht heb. Ik bleef het schrijven van dit artikel maar uitstellen omdat ik nog nooit met dit product heb gewerkt. Maar vandaag was de gevreesde dag dan toch eindelijk aangebroken. Hello everyone! Today I want to share a new review with you guys. A couple of weeks ago I've bought some holographic nail foils from a for me unknown brand called Envy-U. I've never worked with any nail foils before so I was a little nervous, if I was going to love the result of this holoprapgic manicure. Toen ik deze folie op mijn nagels uitprobeerde was ik eerst best enthousiast. Ik vind de kleur echt prachtig en vol enthousiasme begon ik aan een nieuwe manicure. De nagel folie die ik voor dit artikel heb getest is van het een voor mij onbekende merk: Envy-U. Eerst knipte ik de folie op maat voordat ik die op mijn nagels kon plaatsen. Als basis voor deze nail art gebruikte ik een zwarte nagellak van Essence. (Nr. 144 black is back) Toen mijn nagels gedroogd waren, heb ik hier de folie op aangebracht.

When I  first tryed this product on my nails, I was really blown away by the result! I love this holographic blue colour and full of enthousiasm I started working on a new manicure. The foil that I tryed on my nails for this article is from a for me unkwown brand called Envy-U. I started this manicure by cutting several pieces of foil and placing them on my nails. As a base for this nail art design I used a black polish from Essence called No. 144 black is back.

 

Zoals op de foto's al te zien is bleef deze folie helaas helemaal niet goed op mijn nagels kleven en was zo dun dat hij zelfs scheurde. Ik heb er nog het beste van proberen te maken. :( Dus bracht ik 2 lagen van mijn favoriete topcoat aan en liet het geheel een kwartier opdrogen. Daarna heb ik met mijn dottingtool nog wat witte details toegevoegd. Uiteindelijk was ik best tevreden met het resultaat van deze nail art, maar een dag later was alle folie al van mijn nagels af. Hieronder zie je alle plus en min punten van dit product op een rijtje:

 

Unfortinately these foils are very thin so after a couple of hours they were already teared apart. I tryed to rescue this nail art by adding some white details to this mani with one of my dottingtools. I finished this manicure by sealing this design with two layers of my favorite topcoat. First I was happy with the result of this nail art creation but just one day later there was no foil left on my nails. Quite dissapointing isn't It!? In the list below you can read all the adventages and disadventages of this product:

 

 

Advantages:

-beautiful holographic colour

-foils are very thin so you can easily place them on your nails.

Disadvantages:

-you need to use a lot of topcoat to keep these foils on your nails.

-the foils stayed on my nails for only one day.

-because these foils are so thin, they tear apart really quick!

Golden Combo #2 Street Art Topcoat

 

Vandaag wil ik met jullie mijn tweede Golden Combo post delen. Voor dit artikel besloot ik een topcoat uit te kiezen die meer kleur bevat en daarmee geschikter is voor deze lente. Toen ik de Pastel lakjes van Maybelline kocht zag ik dat dit merk sinds kort ook vijf nieuwe topcoats in zijn assortiment heeft. Deze nieuwe Street Art Topcoats waren al volop te zien tijdens de New York fashion week en ik was dan ook erg benieuwd of een van deze lakjes mijn verwachtingen zou overtreffen. Today I'd like to share my second golden combo post with you guys! I decided to choose a more colourful topcoat for this article, to make this post more appropriate for summer! When I bought two pastel polishes from maybelline (which I wrote a review about last week) I saw that this brand also has five new topcoats in it's spring collection. You could already spot these polishes on the runway of the New York fashion week and I was wondering if any of these topcoats was going to meet mly expectations! Met de nieuwe topcoats van Maybelline tover jij je nagels in een handomdraai om in een echt graffiti kunstwerkje. Maybelline haalde de inspiratie voor deze nieuwe lakjes van moderne street art en door de verschillende matte glitters in deze nagellak zouden ze een speciaal effect aan je nagels moeten geven! Bovendien belooft het merk dat deze nagellak lang op je nagels blijft zitten. Ik was heel benieuwd en besloot voor dit artikel een van de topcoats genaamd Nr. 4 alley attitude uit te proberen.

With the new topcoats from Maybelline you can easily create a small piece of graffiti art on your nails. :) The brand got it's inspiration for this collection from the modern street art. All the different kinds of glitter in this topcoat give your nails a really special touch! They also promise that these topcoats stay on your nails for a long time. I was very curious about the quality of these polishes and I decided to try one of them called No. 4 alley attitude on my nails.

 

Als eerst probeerde ik dit lakje op een donkere basis uit! De donkerpaarse nagellak is van L'oreal en heet; Nr. 508 Amazon flower. Toen mijn nagels gedroogd waren bracht ik hier een laag van de topcoat over aan. Hoewel je wel meerdere laagjes van deze topcoat nodig had om een mooi effect op mijn nagels te creëren was ik erg tevreden met het resultaat. Door alle verschillende soorten glitters die deze nagellak bevat, tover je je nagels om in een echt graffiti kunstwerkje ;)

First I tryed this topcoat on a dark purple base. The purple polish that I used is from L'oreal and is called No. 508 amazon flower. When my nails were dryed completly, I applied a layer of the Street Art topcoat. Although I needed multiple layers of this topcoat to cover all my nails, I was really happy with the final result of this manicure! Because this topcoat contains all kinds off different glitter, you can easily create a little piece of art on your nails :)
 

 

Omdat de zwarte glitters op de donkerpaarse basis niet heel goed opvielen besloot ik deze nagellak ook nog op een lichte basis uit te proberen. Het lichtpaarse lakje dat ik gebruikt heb is van Essence en heet Nr. 149 hello marshmallow. Nu vond ik de glitters nog mooier tot hun recht komen! Ik was erg enthousiast over het resultaat en omdat de topcoat uit allerlei soorten glitters bestaat blijft hij tot wel 6 dagen op mijn nagels zitten. Het enige nadeel: hoe verwijder je deze topcoats? Glitterlak is namelijk heel moeilijk van je nagels af te krijgen en het verwijderen van deze nagellak was dus nog wel een heel gedoe.

I thought it would be smart to try this topcoat also on a light base! This time I used a light purple nail polish from Essence called No. 149 hello marshmallow. When my nails had dryed, I was kind of shocked. I think this topcoat looks amazing in combination with a lighter base. Because this topcoat contains so much glitter, this nail polish stayed on my nails for about 6 days! The only disadvantage: It's just so hard to remove glitter polish. It just keeps sticking on your nails!

Hoi allemaal, vandaag wil ik jullie deze schattige liefdesbrief nail art laten zien. Ik kon mijn blog vorige week niet bijwerken want mijn computer was niet instaat zichzelf op te starten. :( Dat is dus de reden, dat dit artikel een dag later online komt. Voor deze nail art heb ik maar drie kleuren nagellak gebruikt en daardoor is deze manicure nog makkelijker om zelf thuis na te maken! Hoewel ik wat langer bezig was met de details van deze nail art, kun je deze nagelcreatie vrij snel zelf maken! Ik begon deze manicure met een basis van witte acryl nagellak. Later heb ik daar nog een laagje gewone witte nagellak en een topcoat over aangebracht. Hierdoor werden mijn nagels mooi egaal, en kon ik wat glans aan deze nail art toevoegen.

I’ve only used three colours to create this manicure, so this nail art design is really easy to create yourself at home. Athough It took me some time to finish all the details on my nails, this manicure is really quick and easy to create yourself. I started this manicure by painting my nails with a basic white acrylic paint. After my nails had dryed completly I used one layer of a regular white polish and a topcoat to cover all my nails and to add some shine to this manicure!  
 

Toen mijn nagels mooi gedroogd waren heb ik met een zwarte striper van Etos de eerste details op mijn nagels aangebracht. Ik wou deze budget striper graag een keer uitproberen en uiteindelijk was ik best wel tevreden met het resultaat. Als laatste heb ik met een dottingtool en een Bordeaux rood lakje van Primark genaamd Pillarbox Red de hartjes op mijn nagels gemaakt. Dit was nog wel even een priegel werkje maar uiteindelijk geven de hartjes een schattige touch aan deze romantische manicure!

When my nails had dryed completly, I started adding the black details with a budget striper from a drugstore called Etos. I really wanted to try this striper and in the end I was quite happy with the result! I finished this manicure using a red nail polish from Primark called Pillarbox Redand a dottingtool to add the hearts on my nails. I had a hard time adding those little hearts, but in the end I was really happy with the result of this romantic manicure!!

Ik durf te wedden dat iedereen inmiddels minstens éen mint of koraal kleurig item in zijn kast heeft hangen! Je kunt deze kleuren werkelijk overal mee combineren, en ze geven dan ook een zomerse touch aan iedere lente look. Zoals jullie op de afbeeldingen in dit artikel al kunnen zien zijn de pasteltinten zeer geschikt als klein detail om je zomerse outfit compleet te maken. Je kunt Mint of Koraal kleding bijvoorbeeld goed combineren met een bijpassende statement necklace! 's Avonds kan een Koraal kleurige maxi skirt echt een eye-catcher zijn maar ook pastelkleurige schoenen of nagels kunnen een mooie touch up aan je allerdaagse outfit geven.

I bet that everyonehas at least one Mint or Coral Item in their closets! Pastel shades are a lovely fashion statement and you can combine thesecolors with almost eveything. As you can see in the pictures in this article, Coral & Mint shades can give your warderobe a real summery touch! You can use these colours as a small detail to complet your eveyday clothes but at night a Coral Maxi dress can be a fashion statement as well. Pastel colored shoes and nails can give your eveyday warderobe a lovely touch up!

 

Natuurlijk wilde ik voor dit artikel ook twee lakjes voor jullie uittesten die goed passen bij deze zomerse trend. Ze komen allebei uit de Color Show collectie van Maybelline. Het eerste lakje heet Nr. 342 Coral Craze. Zelf was ik van tevoren nog al sceptisch over deze nagellakken omdat er al een aantal negatieve reviews op internet zijn verschenen. Maar aangezien de kleuren zo goed bij deze trend passen, besloot ik ze toch voor jullie uit te testen ;) En dat bleek een goede zet! Dit koraal kleurige lakje bedekt mijn nagels al met een laag van de lak, droogt snel op en is daarmee perfect voor nail arts. Ik was erg enthousiast toen ik deze lak op mijn nagels uitprobeerde.

Ofcorse I wanted to test some matching polishes for this article! I swatched two polishes from the Color Show Collection from Maybelline for you guys, but I have to say, in the beginning I was a little bit sceptical. I've red some negative reviews about this collection from maybelline, so I wasn't sure if any of these polishes were going to meet my high expectations. First I tryed a Coral polish called Nr. 342 Coral Craze on my nails. When this polish had dryed completely I was really surprised! This Coral polish covers your nails with just one layer! The polish dryes really quick and I love the result on my nails.
 

 

Maar beviel het tweede lakje genaamd Nr. 651 Cool Blue me ook zo goed? Hoewel deze nagellak er opgedroogd prachtig uitziet, had ik toch 2 dikke lagen nodig om de lak mooi egaal te krijgen. Dat viel een klein beetje tegen maar uiteindelijk was ik toch wel tevreden met het resultaat. Deze mint en koraalkleurige lakjes kunnen een leuke toevoeging geven aan je alledaagse kleding en zijn daarmee erg geschikt voor het aankomende seizoen!
 

But did the second polish called Nr. 651 Cool Blue also manage to meet my expectations? Althought this polish looks great on my nails, I'm not a big fan of the coverage. I needed 2 thick layers to cover all my nails completely. Therefore I was a little bit dissapointed but I think the overal result of this mint polish looks great on my nails. Mint or Coral polishes can give your everyday wardrobe a trendy touch, and thes colours are perfect for this year's spring!
