How to become a succesful blogger?

Today's article is slightly different comparing with the other articles I posted so far. Today I’d like to tell you something more about how you can become a successful blogger. I love writing and in the future I’d like to become a professional journalist. Since I was 12 Jears old I started painting my nails and making nail arts and over the years this has become more than a hobby for me. To improve both my English and Dutch writing skills I decided to start my own place on the internet, called Creativenails4fun. That was one year ago, and since then a lot has changed! In this short article I will not share the perfect tips to create a professional layout (because I know that there are a lot of people who's blogs looks way better than mine) but I'd love to tell you what other inner properties you'll need to become a successful blogger.

When I first started blogging I did not expect anyone to look at my reviews or nail arts. Writing articles was really something that I did just for myself. Some of my friends didn’t understand what I was doing and they thought that it was all just a waste of time. Negative thoughts began to undermine my creativity. Why did I started blogging? Nobody would ever want to read my blog. But luckily some of my best friends were positive and they told me that I was really talented and that I should continue writing, so I did.

I would carry on making articles and slowly more and more readers began to look at my blog. I started writing articles about the latest trends for your nails and although some of my friends weren’t positive at all, I would continue writing my posts on the internet. After some months I decided that I really wanted to invest in my hobby. Why would I care if someone did not like what I was doing. I discovered that being the perfect blogger and having a succesful blog really rests on three things.

Those things are:

Passion, Personality and Expertise.

Passion is really important because you have to like what you are doing. Otherwise people are going to notice that you don’t really love what you are doing. As a result they won't return to your blog anymore. Personality is also important. Your readers want to know the person behind the blog. They want to know what my interests are and they want me to be involved as well. They also want to feel noticed and being able to share their opinions with me. Expertise is the final part of running a successful blog. When I write a negative review about some product that I don’t recommend, I think people will trust me because they know that I’ll always write 100% honest reviews. As a result they might not buy the product next time they are in their local drugstore. This is really important because some blogs only care about the money that they get payed when they are forced to share positive reviews with their readers. So expertise is all about, trust, sharing the right information and being aware of the latest developments that your followers want to read about.

Know what your format is.

Except for these three important points, there are also some other things that you need to be aware of. It’s really important to know what your format is. Your need to know what kind of people your target contains. If you know what content you want to make your readers aware of, you are doing the right thing.

Invest a lot of time.

Finally, running a successful blog does not happen immediately. You have to invest a lot of time and make sure that you share new updates with your followers, regularly. I post articles on Creativenails4fun twice a week. The more articles you write, the more your blog will be noticed by google.

Other tips & Tricks.

Of corse there are a lot of other points which you need to focus on, for example: Social media & networking. These points are different for each blog, but every blogger wants to discover the perfect way to keep people in touch and they also want to know how they can make their readers aware of a new article. Bloglovin or Google friends connect are great ways to make your readers aware of your new posts, so that they can easily return to your blog. Taking nice pictures and having a proffesional layout can make your blog look more interesting to read. This does not have to cost a lot of money. Although I'd love to have my own hosting and layout, free compagnies such as blogger do have a lot of options as well! The things that I shared with you today are some of the key points which I think are really important when you want to start your own blog! As you could already read, having the perfect layout or making the most beautiful pictures is important but the most important thing remains that you need to have a passion for something!

So when I started working on all these points I began to notice that my blog was becoming more and more popular. First I didn’t get any response on a blog post, but after months readers were finally beginning to discover Creativenails4fun. Now an article gets 30 to 60 comments. But besides the fact that I wanted to share my tips with you, I also wanted to tell you what I learned from this whole experience.
I stayed true to who I am and I didn’t care about all those negative friends who didn’t really get my vision. As a result, I was rewarded with a successful blog, new colleagues from all over the world and people who are really getting my creativity.  My perseverance has paid of…
